With regard to your letter No 17005/1905 of the
24th ultimo on the subject of the desirability of a re-
survey of Victoria Harbour, Hong kong, i am commanded by my
Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for
the information of Mr Secretary Lytteison trat as the exist-
ing charts of the harbour are amply sufricient for the re-
quirements of H.M. Ships they are not prepared to contribute
to the expense of such a survey as is contemplated.
in regard to the request in par: 8 ́of the letter abow
quoted that copies of certain charts may be supplied to the
Colonial Office, I am to state that photographie copies of
all charts giving surveys with a fixed datum have been pre-
pared and are forwarded herewith.
The plans &c which accompanied your letter are return-
edn herewith as requested.
